I offer a free in-person doula consultation for families living on Orcas Island. In my experience, so much of what makes a good match between doulas and families can be quickly unearthed in a face-to-face meeting. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you in person and get to know your family’s unique needs while offering my experience and support. Feel free to email or call me in the meantime.

Postpartum Care includes:

• Assistance and education with breastfeeding and/or bottle-feeding (including pumping)

• Support in the emotional adjustment to parenthood

• Demonstration of newborn care including bathing, swaddling, baby wearing, and diapering

• Offers support and insight into birth parents’ physical and emotional postpartum recovery

• Provides sleep strategies for both infant and new parents

• Helps with and offers strategies to help siblings adjust to new family member

• Available prenatally to help set-up and prepare nursery/home (make sure you have what you want/need)

• Prepares simple and nutritious meals for family

• Runs errands such as grocery and/or pharmacy

• Organizes nursery and changing stations

• Light housekeeping such as tidying kitchen, turning over laundry, and doing dishes

• Does infant’s laundry

• Helps integrate grandparents and other family members as desired by new parents

• Provides community resources and referrals

• Offers strategies and resources for parents returning to work
